Wolfgang Schadler was born in Vienna, Austria in 1952. He is a self-taught artist who began working professionally in the late 1970s. Since the early 1980s, he has exhibited his work in numerous countries around the world. Since 1984, he has participated in solo exhibitions at the Vienna Museum of Applied Arts and the Vienna Museum of Modern Art
